1)Ride report from km193 onwards
From BHP (Blue Valley) to Gua Musang about 95km. About 60km from BHP there will be 3 gerai available within 2 km range of each other. Food and drinks available. The gerai even got redbull. As usual be careful of the downhill. The roads are not that smooth. This 95km stretch has no flat terrain. Only climbs, descent and dragon back. This 90km stretch will hit you around 1.3k elevation gain.
Once u reach the T Junction at km272, it’s 17km more to cp2. This stretch of road is total darkness and narrow roads. Welcome to dragon back territory again. becareful on the decent as it will be dark by then and roads are not that good. Too many patches.
2) from cp 2 to cp3
From gua musang, you set off to Kuala lipis. It will be about 20km before u hit the new highway. This 20km is all dragon back, total darkness and narrow roads.
Once u hit the highway, it’s 72km of no refil, no shops, no nothing. 70% of the stretch is not lighted. Bonus is smooth roads but some part of the road,’s emergency lane is dirty with debris of exploded lorry tires. This highway is maintained by JKR. So don’t expect any facilities at all. Near the end of the highway, there is a beautiful pictogram sign board. It shows 3km to shell Station. So we pedaled harder and happily. But after 1km, you’ll see another sign showing the station is 2km to the right and our route is turn left. Damm…
Once u clear the highway, you head on to Kuala lipis. Dragon back and narrow trunk roads as usual. There are a few gerai and kedai runcit along these stretches.
From Kuala lipis to jerantut. 60km.. Guess what? Dragon back and narrow trunk roads as usual. No shops for refil until after 40km++
Once u reach jerantut, feels like you have reach civilization. Food and drinks abundance.
3) from cp3 to finish line)
From Kuala lipis, you head to Benta. 60km best stretch ever. Mostly descent with 1% gradient. Your legs will thank you.
From Benta, you head to Raub town. About 30km. Bapak panjang punya dragon back. Cos by now, legs jelly already. Then pass town and head to the gap climb.
21km to climb Gab. Gonna feel like the longest 21km of your life.
Once u reach the gap. The ride feels completed. Just take your time and roll down safely to kkb. Habis cerita.
Note: some distance I quote might be 5km+- difference. Really to bonk to remember.
